The final race in the Round of 8 for the NASCAR Xfinity Series will take place at Martinsville Speedway Saturday afternoon.
Aside from Chase Briscoe, all remaining playoff drivers have yet to clinch a Championship 4 berth. As a result, seven playoff drivers will vie for one of the final three postseason positions at a track none of the drivers have raced on.
Austin Cindric will start on the pole. Among all playoff drivers, Cindric currently sits second in the playoff point standings (14) and first among drivers that have yet to clinch a Championship 4 berth. In 31 Xfinity races this season, Cindric has won a season-high five races and has also picked up a season-high 18 top-five finishes. His 24 top-10 finishes this season are currently tied with last year’s Xfinity total.
Justin Allgaier (eight) and Justin Haley (four) currently round out the top four playoff drivers currently ahead of the cutline in terms of playoff points. Allgaier swept the doubleheader slate at a short track venue earlier this season (Richmond Raceway). At Bristol Motor Speedway earlier this season, Allgaier finished 18th. Haley, meanwhile, finished inside the top 10 in both Richmond races (second and sixth) and 17th at Bristol. Haley will start the race in third, while Allgaier will start in sixth.
Brandon Jones currently sits four points below the playoff cutline. Jones finished third at Bristol earlier this season. Additionally, Jones finished eighth and 14th at both Richmond races. Jones will start the race in seventh.
Ross Chastain (-15), Noah Gragson (-24) and Ryan Sieg (-43) round out the playoff drivers. All three drivers currently sit below the cutline. Of the trio, Gragson will start in the highest position (second). Chastain and Sieg, meanwhile, will also start inside the top 10. Chastain will start the race in fourth, while Sieg will start in ninth.
Stage lengths for the race will be 60-60-130. Coverage will begin on NBC at 3:30 p.m. EST.
