Rich 10 NFL Rankings (Week 12)

This week saw some of the top teams make emphatic statements wins and others take embarrassing losses. With all three primetime games involving teams with winning records, it was a big week as the Texans picked up a big win over the Colts, and the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens dominated to assert themselves as Super Bowl contenders heading into their matchup next week.

1. Baltimore Ravens (9-2)

They thoroughly dominated the Los Angeles Rams 45-6, and Lamar Jackson was so dominant, that the Ravens scored a touchdown on every drive he played. The Ravens are an unstoppable juggernaut as they beat down the Rams who are a shell of their former selves. I cannot wait to see this offense go up against the mighty 49ers’ defense.

2. San Francisco 49ers (10-1)

Speaking of dominating, that is exactly what the 49ers did to the Green Bay Packers. They imposed their will on the Packers and the offense really kicked it to a whole other level with the return of superstar George Kittle. I am very excited to see how this defense performs against Lamar Jackson next week.

3. New Orleans Saints (9-2)

The Saints after taking care of business vs Tampa Bay, once again, took care of business against a division opponent, but this time, they had a much tougher time doing so. They won despite another big game from Christian McCaffrey. They play the Falcons next and they will try to get payback for their embarrassing 26-9 loss to them a few weeks ago.

4. New England Patriots (10-1)

The Patriots once again won a game with defense and Stephon Gilmore continues to build his case for the NFL’s best cornerback as he held Amari Cooper without a catch. Brady looked better despite miserable conditions and the Patriots are still finding ways to win.

5. Seattle Seahawks (9-2)

Despite missing Tyler Lockett and Jadeveon Clowney, the Seahawks were able to go into Philadelphia and come out with an ugly 17-9 victory. Russell Wilson had another MVP-caliber moment and the Seahawks got some production from backup running back Rashaad Penny, who had 129 yards on 14 carries. The Seahawks will have a huge test versus Minnesota next week, and if they win and the 49ers lose at Baltimore, the Seahawks will find themselves in first place.

6. Minnesota Vikings (8-3)

The Vikings are well-rested after their bye week and are expected to get star wide receiver Adam Thielen back for their huge showdown at Seattle. This is the kind of game Kirk Cousins always loses so this will be a huge opportunity for the Vikings to prove themselves.

7. Buffalo Bills (8-3)

While this team continues to play weak competition, the progress of this team is very noticeable. Josh Allen continues to become more comfortable in the Bills’ offense and the offensive line is starting to open things up for the running game more. The Bills are well-coached and are cutting down on their turnovers, which helps out their stingy defense. They will finally have the national spotlight this week as they head to Dallas for a Thanksgiving showdown.

8. Green Bay Packers (8-3)

I mentioned last week that I did not believe in this team and my feelings were validated as they were obliterated 37-8 at San Francisco. The offense has struggled to find a consistent flow all season long, and the defense continues to give up a lot of yards. They still have not had that statement win yet, but the good news is they play the Jacksonville Jaguars and Washington Redskins their next two games. They can pick up a couple easy wins as they prepare for a huge Week 16 showdown with the Minnesota Vikings.

9. Kansas City Chiefs (7-4)

After winning a huge game in Mexico City, the Chiefs had the week off to prepare for their stretch run. The Jets did them a favor by destroying the Raiders 34-3 to keep the Chiefs in first place. The Chiefs will look to lock up the division as they host the Oakland Raiders this week.

10. Houston Texans (7-4)

While not the most impressive win of the week, perhaps no team had a more important win than the Houston Texans this past Thursday Night. They defeated the Indianapolis Colts 20-17 with incredible games from Will Fuller and Deandre Hopkins, and they put themselves in control of the AFC South. Despite being outplayed by the Colts, they were still able to win with their talent, and now comes a spotlight game at home vs the New England Patriots.
