Man City ties UCL aggregate record; Ronaldo scores hat trick to send Juventus to quarterfinals

Manchester City 7 – Schalke 04 0(Man City wins 10-2 aggregate)

What looked like a matchup that could have been close than most people would have predicted, turned into a blowout that most people would not have expected. Manchester City defeated Schalke 04 by a score of 7-0 in the final leg of their round of 16 matchup. With two goals coming from Sergio Agüero and a goal coming from Leroy Sané, Raheem Sterling, Bernado Silva, Foden, and Gabriel Jesus, City cruised into the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League for the 2nd straight year. This aggregate is tied for the largest defeat in UCL history with the 2007 matchup between Liverpool and Besikitas(Liverpool 8-0), and the 2015 matchup between Real Madrid and Maldo(Real Madrid 8-0).

Juventus 3 – Atlético Madrid 0(Juventus wins 3-2 aggregate)

Wow….No one could have seen Cristiano Ronaldo putting Juventus on his back and scoring a hat trick to win the matchup……Oh wait, you definitely could have.

All Atlético had to do was put 11 men on Ronaldo and they are walking to the quarterfinals, but no. They let Ronaldo put up three goals, THE ONLY THREE GOALS OF THE MATCH, and they get eliminated. This will be the third straight quarterfinal appearance for Juventus while Antoine Griezmann once again gets to watch more soccer from his home. Let’s be honest, he is more productive at home than on the pitch.
