Christopher Ashton Kutcher was born in 1978 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Though a relatively good student, he was arrested his senior year for breaking into his high school to steal money. He was ostracized and lot his girlfriend over the incident but it was a wakeup call that turned his life around.
Ashton attended the University of Iowa where he was going to study biomechanical engineering but was spotted by a talent scout at a local bar and was convinced to enter a modeling competition. With success at this competition he dropped out and moved to New York City where he entered the International Modeling and Talent Association convention where he came in 2nd overall behind actor Josh Duhamel. From there he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting.
With his firs audition turning into a long standing role on That 70s show, Ashton saw success early. It wasn’t long before he jumped onto the big screen as well in movies like Dude, Where’s My Car?, The Butterfly Effect and My Boss’s Daughter. During this time his entrepreneurial side broke out as well with him creating his own show for MTV called Punk’d which was a big hit for the 5 years it ran.
More recently Kutcher went on to replace Charlie Sheen after his infamous meltdown in Two and a Half Men for the staggering sum of $20 Million for the season. Ashton is also an avid early stage investor in such companies as Skype, Airbnb and many others.
